Mental and physical health requires that cellular functions and homeostasis are maintained in the body. This depends on proper regulation of the genome - a complex process that can be influenced by life experiences and environmental factors. Studying genome activity and regulation requires consideration of genetic and epigenetic factors and different levels of analyses, from DNA to RNA and protein.  

In this webinar, Isabelle Mansuy, Professor of Neuroepigenetics at the University of Zürich and at ETH Zürich and expert in epigenetic inheritance will discuss how approaches for epigenetics analyses and other omics can be used and integrated to examine different levels of genome activity in tissues and cells. Based on her lab’s experience with germ cells, she will address some of the challenges of multi-omics data collection and analyses.

Isabelle Mansuy is a Professor of Neuroepigenetics at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Zurich and at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich) (double chair). She obtained a Ph.D. in developmental neurobiology from Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg in 1994 for a PhD work at the Friedrich Miescher Institute in Basel, Switzerland. She then pursued postdoctoral training at Columbia University in New York and was recruited as assistant professor at ETH Zurich in December 1998. She has been a professor at the University of Zurich and at ETH Zurich since 2013.
